Ethan Porter

My name is Ethan Porter. I grew up in Canton, Connecticut, where I learned to play the piano and guitar at a young age. My interest in music continued throughout high school, where I played upright bass and tuba in the jazz ensemble and symphonic band. I am now a student at Northeastern University, and will be studying business in the spring. I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to record and release an EP this year, titled “Quiet for Help”, as well as my single “Your Hearts Just Doing Its Job”, which are available on Spotify and iTunes. Music has become my passion, and it is great to be able to write and perform in the city of Boston. My music is best described as indie folk/acoustic pop. I look for simplicity in my style and depth in my lyrics, and am influenced by artists such as Ed Sheeran, City and Colour, and James Arthur. For me, music is how I analyze my life. I look at the world around me and translate my biggest fears, greatest emotions, and most influential thoughts into music as best I can, in the hopes that other people can feel the passion I feel when I am playing my music.
