Elise Leavy
Elise Leavy is a singer and songwriter from northern California. Coming from a background of largely Beatles, she began writing songs at the age of 8 and has since begun her endeavor to bring the accordion and the tenor guitar back into the folk world through her own songs, pulling from the likes of Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Leonard Cohen and other such songwriters. She is also a core member and songwriter in the group Ruthless Moon, an up and coming folk band begun in Boston, MA, by students of the New England Conservatory, made up of accordion (Elise Leavy), guitar (Sam Talmadge), tenor banjo (Caroline Kuhn), bass (Dan Klingsberg), and vocals by all.
Caroline Kuhn
Caroline Kuhn is a New York native who began singing at age four, recording for jingles and television. Her songwriting focuses on interesting harmonization and rhythmic fingerpicking on guitar and tenor banjo. This is strongly influenced by her extensive choral training and appreciation for a wide range of music styles, such as pop, folk, and contemporary vocal music. Since entering the New England Conservatory, she helped to form two bands: The Ladles and Ruthless Moon. Both perform regularly throughout the New England area.
