Jessica Curran

Jessica Curran is a Massachusetts-born composer and vocalist currently based in Stockholm, Sweden. After finishing her studies in jazz performance at the University of North Texas and Kungl. Musikhögskolan, Jessica is creating her own music, and flourishing around Europe and the USA. On top of this, Jessica not only sings jazz standards from the American Songbook, but arranges for a multitude of colorful instrumentations and is being commissioned for her writing ability. Most notably, Jessica had the opportunity to musically interpret the Nobel Prize in Economics for Stockholm's Nobel Museum in 2016. Her premiere album, "Here," just released in October 2017 at Stockholm Jazz Festival, has already received notoriety from Downbeat magazine. Jessica creates music that seeks to combine lush jazz harmonies with painted landscapes of lyrical architecture, and grooves to make listeners wiggle against their inhibitions. Jessica is currently working on an EP with Jazz Manouche legend, Gustav Lundgren and has had the opportunity to perform with some of her idols such as Ben Folds, and Bobby McFerrin.
